Job Title: Senior Telecoms Specialist – Banking Industry
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Telecoms Specialist to join our banking organization as soon as possible. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive review of our telecommunications services, operations, and environment in the UK. Your primary focus will be to identify gaps and recommend improvements in resilience to ensure the optimal performance of our telecommunications infrastructure. This will involve evaluating operations, change management processes, vendor service performance, contractual agreements, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) within the context of our banking operations.

  • Conduct a thorough review of our telecommunications services, operations, and environment within the UK banking sector.
  • Identify any gaps and areas for improvement in the current telecommunications infrastructure and processes.
  • Evaluate and analyze operations and change management procedures specific to the banking industry.
  • Assess vendor service performance and adherence to contractual agreements.
  • Review and analyze Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to identify areas of improvement in the banking context.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the bank to understand their telecommunications requirements and align with industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the resilience and performance of our telecommunications systems in line with banking industry standards.
  • Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions to address any identified gaps and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to telecommunications services in the banking sector.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders within the bank on telecommunications-related matters.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners to optimize service delivery, taking into account the specific needs of a banking institution.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings, recommendations, and proposed improvements, considering the unique requirements of the banking industry.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field. A relevant Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a senior-level role within the telecommunications industry, with a focus on the banking sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK Telecommunications services, operations, and regulations within the context of the banking industry.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure, technologies, and systems as they pertain to banking operations.
  • Extensive experience in reviewing and analyzing operations, change management, vendor services, and SLAs in a banking environment.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard telecommunications equipment, software, and protocols used in the banking sector.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply them to banking-specific telecommunications challenges.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders within a banking organization.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage complex projects within the banking context.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines while complying with banking regulations.
  • Professional certifications related to telecommunications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are desirable, with additional certifications or knowledge of banking regulations and compliance considered a plus.
