Global IT Networks Manager

Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Global IT Service Operations & Infrastructure Manager, the role is accountable for delivering world class IT Network Management Services.  The role and its direct reports will be responsible for the end to end delivery and performance of the organisations Global Wide Area Network from its delivery partner. 

The role will lead a team of subject matter experts to meet the ongoing operational business requirements:

  • Development of Global Network Strategy including network design and roadmap
  • Day to day operational performance of network to agreed SLAs and KPIs
  • Changes to network to meet ongoing business demands
  • Emergency response to Critical Incidents

Location: Location: Spain or Portugal with ability to travel to UK if required to do so. Potential travel to supplier offices or operational locations
Responsibilities

  • Ensure the stable running of the global network environment in collaboration with suppliers and country-based peers in a matrix-based organisation
  • Provide senior point of interface and accountability for all aspects of network service delivery and assurance
  • Designs, plans and develops network within the context of the IT Services strategy
  • Accountable for the delivery of all service metrics in conjunction with local countries, partners and suppliers
  • Delivers robust, efficient and professional operational IT service to key stakeholders
  • Delivers Changes to the network in response to business requirements
  • Maintains documentation of systems, maps, procedures, user and technical information
  • Manage any on-going network related escalations
  • Management of both internal and third party resources in delivering intended outcomes
  • Reviews and responds to out of hours critical incidents as required
  • Identifies opportunities for cost savings and optimisation of existing services
  • Participate in re-occurring service reviews with vendors and relevant stakeholders
  • Agree continuous service improvements and monitoring it to execution and delivery
  • Overall lifecycle management of network service from provisioning, upgrades to decommissioning
  • Ensures network meets all internal/external network security standards
  • Possible travel to sites where required

Skills and Experience

  • Experience: 10 Years+ IT Global Network Service Management experience
  • Strategic: Demonstrable experience of developing and maintaining Global Network Strategy
  • Financial: Strong financial management skills with experience of managing budgets of £10m+
  • Substantial experience of working in a similar role managing networks & network security for multiple countries and geographies
  • Demonstrable experience in managing large global Vendors and Suppliers in meeting and exceeding committed levels of Service
  • Able to work collaboratively and sustain effective working relationships with diverse colleagues, partners and clients  
  • Experience in managing Cisco Meraki based solutions
  • Leadership experience of managing a team in a fast paced, virtual, international and demanding work environment.
  • A track record in directing and managing change and continuous improvement
  • Ability to engage, build relationships with and influence senior leadership and key business stakeholders.
  • Possesses exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage different audiences at all levels.
