Job Summary: We are seeking experienced Cloud Engineers to join our global bank as part of a dynamic team responsible for migrating on-premises packaged applications, specifically in the areas of protective security and video surveillance, to the Azure cloud platform. As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and executing the migration strategy, ensuring the successful transition of critical applications to the cloud. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application owners, infrastructure specialists, and security professionals, to deliver robust and scalable cloud solutions while adhering to industry best practices and security standards.
Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with application owners, infrastructure teams, and security specialists to understand the requirements and technical dependencies of on-premises packaged applications for protective security and video surveillance.
  • Design and implement cloud migration strategies, including assessment, planning, and execution, to ensure a seamless transition of applications to the Azure cloud.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and evaluation of on-premises applications, identifying potential issues and risks that may arise during the migration process.
  • Define and implement cloud architecture, infrastructure, and networking components required for the successful deployment and operation of the migrated applications.
  • Ensure scalability, high availability, and performance optimization of the cloud environment while considering cost-efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to make necessary modifications or enhancements to applications, ensuring compatibility with the cloud environment and taking advantage of cloud-native services and capabilities.
  • Implement security measures and controls in alignment with the bank’s policies and industry best practices, including data protection, access management, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including migration plans, architectural diagrams, standard operating procedures, and post-migration support guidelines.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to the migrated applications, providing timely resolutions and recommendations to ensure continuous availability and optimal performance.
  • Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and provide recommendations for their incorporation into the bank’s cloud strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role, with a focus on migrating on-premises packaged applications to Azure or other cloud platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of protective security and video surveillance applications and their technical requirements, dependencies, and integration points.
  • Strong expertise in Azure cloud services, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings.
  • Experience with Azure migration tools, methodologies, and best practices for application migration, such as Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, and Azure Database Migration Service.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and compliance standards relevant to the banking industry.
  • Experience in application modernization and refactoring for the cloud, leveraging cloud-native services and microservices architectures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including technical teams, business owners, and third-party vendors.
