Agile Business Analyst
Job Overview: The Bank is seeking a skilled and motivated Business Analyst to join our Data Asset Team. This team is responsible for managing and optimizing data storage solutions in the cloud. As a Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and improving how records are stored, accessed, and managed in our cloud-based infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for enhancing data storage efficiency, security, and accessibility.
- Data Storage Analysis:
- Collaborate with technical teams to understand existing data storage structures and systems within the cloud environment.
- Analyze data storage patterns, access frequency, and usage trends to identify areas for improvement.
- Assess the scalability, performance, and security of data storage solutions and propose enhancements.
- Requirements Gathering:
- Engage with stakeholders from various business units to gather requirements related to data storage and access.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements for optimizing data storage strategies.
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in current data storage practices and propose solutions.
- Solution Design:
- Work closely with architects and engineers to design efficient and scalable data storage solutions that align with business requirements.
- Participate in the selection of appropriate cloud storage technologies and tools to optimize data management processes.
- Create detailed design documentation and diagrams for proposed storage enhancements.
- Data Governance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards when designing or implementing data storage solutions.
- Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to define data retention policies and access controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and business units, to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into storage strategies.
- Facilitate communication between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
- Monitor the performance of data storage solutions and proactively identify bottlenecks or issues.
- Implement data storage optimization techniques to enhance performance and reduce costs.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data storage solutions, configurations, and changes.
- Generate regular reports on storage utilization, access patterns, and performance metrics for management review.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, preferably within the financial industry.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies, especially related to data storage (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage).
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance principles.
- Proficiency in data analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
